Ozioma is a rising voice in the R&B and Hip-Hop scene, proudly representing her Oakhaven neighborhood and the rich musical heritage of Memphis. Her journey as an artist began in childhood, writing her first songs at the age of 10 and singing in the choir at church since she was just 5 years old. Her passion for music led her to Colonial Middle School’s CAPA (Creative and Performing Arts) program, where she began honing her craft, and later to Overton High School, where she continued her development in CAPA as part of several choirs, including Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Jazz Choir, and Ovation. Through Ovation, she performed at notable Memphis venues like Delta Music Fair and Hard Rock Café, gaining valuable experience as a performer.

 

After graduating high school in 2016, Ozioma attended Southwest Tennessee Community College, earning her Associate of Science degree magna cum laude in 2018. She transferred to the University of Memphis in 2019, initially pursuing nursing but realizing during her junior year that her true passion was music. At the end of 2019, she changed her major to Music Business—a decision that marked a turning point in her life.

 

In 2021, Ozioma released her first single, Lemonade X Real, a mashup cover blending original music with Kendrick Lamar’s Real. That same year brought both joy and heartbreak: she welcomed her first child in December but tragically lost her mother at the age of 23 in August. This profound loss led Ozioma to take a step back from music to focus on healing and caring for her daughter.

In 2023, determined to finish what she started, Ozioma returned to the University of Memphis to complete her degree. Since then, she has been unstoppable—interning at WYXR and 4U Recording Studios, being selected as a Grammy U mentor for the 2024-2025 year, hosting her own radio show on WYXR 91.7 FM, and performing at countless venues across Memphis. Her sound—a seamless blend of smooth R&B vibes with the grit and edge of Hip-Hop—reflects both her deep love for these genres and the resilience that defines her journey.

 

Ozioma’s artistry is rooted in creativity, empowerment, and authenticity. She draws inspiration from her experiences as a mother, student, and artist navigating life’s challenges while staying true to herself. With her debut project set to release soon, Ozioma is ready to bring her unique voice to the world stage and continue building a legacy that honors both her Memphis roots and the future she envisions.
